then again its only about 1cm thick but that's enough for the schools to close. slightly stupid, i know but, awesome at the same time!

Wow, do you guys affected by snow often get days off like this? I seem to be hearing people getting days off because of snow every now and then.

yup, wee got a day off to, i think pretty much the whole of the UK has a day off from school/college.
naaa people who work still have to go in.

Wee're having a freak heat problem here instead.

I don't remember it being this hot in Canberra for as long as I've been here. Like 38°c 2 days ago, and Melbourne was supposedly 44°, and there were power shortages in some places from everyone using air conditioning at the same time.

Heh, wee don't even have air conditioning here since it normally never gets very hot in Canberra.
