RE: HowTo - manually decompress PRX's (not for PSP experts ^^)
Excuse, me have asked to tell more in detail, as decompress recovery.prx.
1. Open the PRX with your favourite HexEditor.
If the file starts with ~PSP, the file means is packed.
If in Offset: 0x150 there is an offset 1F 8B, it means archive Gzip.
2. Select the first 150 byte
3. Press key Del (Delete), to delete the selected area.
4. Press in the menu "File » Save As..." and save a file as recovery.prx.gz
5. Open and extract the *.gz-archive with 7-Zip or WinRAR. Now you have the decompressed (decrypted) PRX.
6. If you see ELF characters in the file beginning, means before you - decripted & decompressed a file.

Can I use this to decrypt/decompress the recovery.prx of 5.00m33-6 Gen-A fw? I tried but Winrar can't extract the file I saved after deleting 0x150.

All is normally extracted. Do not forget, it is necessary to save with *.gz extension. I now decompressed Recovery&Satelite 5.02 Gen-A.
Here still the information for the hint:

I tried what you said.
1. I deleted the first 150bytes.
2. I saved the file as recovery.prx.gz
3. TRied to extract the saved *.gz file but winrar says "The archive is either in unknown format or damaged."
I'm using Hex Workshop also.
May I request that you send me your decrypted Gen A recovery.prx and your satellite.prx. I want to edit some text so they will be customized.
Thanks very much.
