RE: Yeah, so Unbuntu impresses me
back on the first page, i said i ordered the free CD, but now I'm just getting a bit impatient so I'm downloading via torrent at an average speed of 101kb/s but need to know one thing, back when i ordered the CD, i found heaps of tutorials on how to burn the .iso to CD, but now that I'm downloading it, I've forgotten where they are lol. i downloaded the ISO Recorder V2 by Alex Fienman, but I've forgotten where the tutorial/s are. can anyone help? :D
edit: now getting speeds of 313kb/s - 288kb/s :D

RE: Yeah, so Unbuntu impresses me
i have a few simple questions before i run it, because I'm unsure of a few things about the LiveCD (im a noob when it comes to Linux because I've never used it before):
1. when i boot my PC up with the CD in, does it allow me to choose between "Install" and "LiveCD (don't know exactly what it says here)" or does it boot into one of those modes straight away, then you have to change to the other one i.e. it boots into LiveCD mode but if you want to install it, you have to type something in the command thingo or something like that?
2. do i have to create a user account or is it just like a Guest account? and if i do create an account, will it save that for next time or do i have to constantly re-make an account?
3. with internet, on Windows, i use Intel ProSet/Wireless (basically saying i have a wireless internet connection) to manage my internet, so for Ubuntu how do i set it up? and does it stay there for the next time i boot up?
4. i looked inside the .iso before burning (but i didn't change anything, just viewed the files with WinRAR) and in the "Programs" folder, i found Mozilla etc but they were in .exe files, i though .exe was just for Windows?
i think that's it although I'm sure I've left something out. thanks (and maybe a rep if i haven't already given you one) to whoever can help :D
edit: the double post filter didn't butt in here like i thought it would lol

RE: Yeah, so Unbuntu impresses me
1. I think you have to boot into the Live CD so you can install Ubuntu
2. There is no account creation process using the Live CD. It just goes to the Gnome desktop or KDE or whatever. But when you install it, you setup your accounts
3. Ubuntu should be able to automatically setup your card. Heck it even installed and used the Datel WIFI max dongle for the PSP with no problems at all. I think that Intel expressed support for their wifi cards on Linux.
4. As for the .exes... I have no clue
