Kanon 2006 Softsubs needed
Hey guys,
well I just "got" 8GB of HD Kanon 2006 but I just noticed it has no subs.....
Anyone knows where I could get English Softsubs for it?
Help would be greatly appreciated

RE: Kanon 2006 Softsubs needed
HD Kanon 2006? Kanon 2006 was never made HD. Must be an upscale.
Extract it out of some existing softsubbed fansubs?
You can ask around and see if anyone has an MKV version of Kanon 2006. And maybe ask them to extract it for you.
Even if you do, the softsubs may not be timed exactly equal to your vids, so your subs might not sync completely with the audio.

Well I think it's really not HD, just labled HD, but it looks nice enough so...
Like you said, it would be nice if someone with .mkvs could extract them for me :D
I don't really care about the timing since I watched Kanon already once.
you SHOULD care about the timing... if it was off by a second it would be bothersome.
The only thing I can suggest is that you'll need to use MKVExtractGUI Wizard on SS-Eclipses MKV releases http://eclipse.no-sekai.de/xdcc
It will probably be worthwhile comparing quality as well.

That's like 4 more GB of download :\. Not worth it if you ask me.
In any case it'll probably be hell annoying using the MKVExtractGUI on the files one by one.
Just write a batch file to do all of them though the command line MKVExtract.
replacing EpisodeXX.mkv with the name of your episode.
Run it, wait for some time, you got it all.
EDIT:
You don't have to re-mux to view the subs, but if you are planning to re-mux your subs with the HD raws, then the easiest method would be just to use MKVMerge GUI, loading both files and selecting the video track and subtitle track from each.

A lot more effort than doing it via batch file.
EDIT:
Looked at Rikku's subs... .srt? You used OCR (Subrip)?
If you did do that, that takes WAY more effort than both the above methods...
