Well, Today is a day I have been waiting for a long time now.  Today Silent Hill:Homecoming was released in America for PS3 and Xbox 360!  MY best friend and I have been HUGH silent hill fans, played every title, beat every one.  Wee love it.  Wee just had to have it on it first day of release.  Sadly, I will not be making a guide for this game.  I know I had a couple random people Email the last few week asking if I would cover Homecoming.  I just can't this time, back when I played and made the SH: Origins guide I had alot ore time and I just can this time around I am sorry.  But I am here write but what I hope to be a nice guide of what my friend and I think of it.  I hope you enjoy the read if you even read it all.  I know most EPeople won't but its ok ;) I post it here anyway but this was pretty much made for silenthill5.net , endlessparadigm.com ot where ever I but it.  please feel free though to spread this review, I don't care

About Alex.

Alex has just been discharged from the army, returning for the first time in a very long time and has not seen his family in what feels like forever for him.  Returning home it does not take Alex long to figure out that something is very wrong with this small town.  Almost everybody has gone missing including his little brother Joshua.  Alex is sent on a crazy hell-ish journey into the small ghost town of silent hill.  


The Beginning of The Game


Silent Hill: Homecoming start with Alex (Who you will be playing as) is strapped to a stretcher being wheeled into a hospital by an odd man, looking around in the other rooms Alex can see that very bad things are happening to the other brought to this hospital.  Alex, yelling for the man to stop and wanting to knew what's going on is pushing to a room and is then left alone with nothing said to wait and see what happens, then by pressing X repeatably Alex then breaks his hands free and then frees himself from the stretcher.  Alex is now in what seem to be an operating room, when leaving the room you see a huge knife slice a nurse in half, then something dragging it away. But what?  

Well I not going to spoil anymore of the game for you.  This game in my eyes is a huge improvement from Silent Hill 4! For sure, because as some of you silent hill fans might already know, Silent hill 4 kinda sucked in alot of hardcore SH fan's eyes, main reason was that is wasn't based in silent hill, but around silent hill event, though still a great game it was the most disliked Silent Hills.   Well enough about SH4.

First thing I would like to talk about is the combat.  The combat in this game is unlike no other SH game, even though Origins combat was improved, this is way better.  The being able to roll out of harms, doge enemies, multiple attack moves at once.  It's like they 100% different then how SH 2,3 was, in a good way that is.  Alex is also very good when it comes to dealing with firearm, indeed another thing I really like about homecoming, free aim! First Silent Hill game to have free-aim and it makes things sometimes alot easier.  Silent Hill has always been the type of game where ammo is a rare thing, and you save what you got for the end or boss fights right?  SH:HC more weapons can be found and alot more ammo to be found, and you will need it.


The Graphics


The graphics are amazing, lots of detail and things look every sharp.  Hands down they did a great job with the graphics.  You should be amazed.  Yeah it's pretty straight forward  and easy to understand, the PS3 displaying at 720p on a 60" LCD TV in a completely dark room.  Yeah you can only imagine how great it was.


The Story


The story!  The heart and soul of every Silent Hill game right?  Indeed.  Well you know they would, deliver and they did just that.  The story might not grab you in the start, but do not fear! Stay with it.  Trust me.  Your going to like it.  Wee played to for about 5 hours and now it leave me here wondering and non stop thinking about it.  I can not wait for more!  I really love that this game also makes small references to other Silent Hill games, like random odd holes in the wall like in SH4, and a memo that talks about a man from SH 3 that you learn about in the haunted house, and I am sure there will be more.


Gameplay


The gameplay feels alot better then who the rest of the SH's are, the controls are nice and very easy to get use to.  The dodging really help when fight monsters as well as the counter attacks and the ability to attack at a faster pace.  One thing you should remember is that you do not want to get backed into a wall with a couple running at you, they get up close to you and it may become hard to get to a safe spot.  Also note, I would say this is the hardest silent Hill game yet, the monsters have got, crazier, scarier, and much harder to put down with malay weapons.  So use gun? Right?  I would not to use the run as much as you can, you will really going to be needing you guns later on so I would save as much as you can.  What I think really sets this game off is the in game transformation of the environments, the ripping and peeling effect when the worlds change to nightmare looks so amazing, though the ign reviewer is right its a rip off from the silent hill movie but stiil, its badass.  The ign guy probably did know that team didn't work on this title but why not use the the ripping and peeling effect?  Its sweet.  Im sure other die hard SH fan agree with me.

I read at some top game site (ign, gameFAQ, gamespot ect) borads of what others are saying and it makes me lol.  Many have said that its way to dark in the game and very hard to move around with this little light.  I can somewhat understand why one would say this, it is very hard to see in the game, its hard to see in every SH game so whatever.  Its support to be this way!  To make the game scare you more and makes you really get into it you know?  But all I can say about this is that if you Are having problem seeing in the game, turn the brightness up on your TV and that will help.  I say keep it dark though, it the way they wanted it to be.  And other retarded thing ign said...  And I quote.

"The game isn't scary because Alex has military experience and knows how to fight"  <<<What the fudge!  This man must have no brain at all, this game is the hardest silent hill yet, so imagine fighting like James from SH2 or Heather from SH3 with theses new and totality upgraded monsters?  lol yeah right.   I read another person call it depressing. lol he must have never played any silent hill game before to find out that every silent hill is depressing.   ign did a very poor job at reviewing this game, and they person that reviewed the game should have been a bigger SH fan.  One thing about Silent Hill is that you pretty much have to be an already fan to really get into and understand the game.

So if you have played any other silent hill game, or even seen the movie I bet you would like this game and enjoy it.  

If you have never even played a SH before, you could still easily into the game, if you like the trailer, you will like the game.  

If you a die hard like I and BreadBox, all I have to say is-  It will deliver!  Trust me.

So if you are even still here I guess you could say this is the end for now, I don't no what else to say really at this point, you can plan on another huge update tomorrow probably.  yeah most likely. right now though my back hurts, im sleepy and out of weed so yeah it suck.  I would like to thank you if you really sat down and read this whole thing, it took me a while to write this up but I did, i wanted to have it done a long time ago but I lost all my work half way... yeah it sucked.  so if you really did read all of this type "good lord lord frog" then reply with what you think.  it will be funny to see how many really u did really all of this and again I thank you.

And, I know I said that I was not going to be making a guide, but BreadBox and I have decided that wee together will be making one.  It will be done in around a week or two.  Why so long>?  This game ain't no SH: Orgins.  This will take a while to finish.
