New Build Completed - Some Problems
So i finished building my first ever build, and I'm pretty pleased overall, it turned out great. I will post pics later probably
Anyway, I've been trying to connect to the internet through my router network by Ethernet, but for some reason it doesn't want to connect.
It's the Nvidia network controller on my 680i LT Mobo.
I tried changing TCP/IP Settings, but still no luck.
I know the connection I'm using works because i used the same link for my 360.
Anyone know any answers?
Thanks!

RE: New Build Completed - Some Problems
Is the NIC functioning correctly?? (does an LED light up when you put the cable in, does it show as connected, etc)
Have you tried disabling the device an re-enabling it (i know it sounds like an odd thing to say, but that's exactly what happened to my old PC, and that solved it for me). Have you been to the mobo manufacturers website and downloaded the latest driver for it, see if that helps?
If not, i would actually recommend getting a PCI-E NIC...they don't cost a lot (around $25 i would imagine) and are far more reliable than an built in one...as you have discovered

Also, I'll check the light. I get connected as my connection status but it won't let me browse anywhere, even to my router gateway.
I've tried disabling and re-enabling the device too, no luck.
