RE: "Allocation unit size"
If you are going to store multimedia stuff that is usually huge in size, make cluster bigger to increase a performance. If small web pages or text documents, make cluster size smaller not to loose a lot of disk space. Think!

if you storing all those umd isos there i say make it 8000bytes whatever

i was thinking small files large unit,. ;p,. i guess i am best off with whot i am using now,. because its really a mixxed storage,. i did wander if it its good to partition the disk,. but i don't think that is necessary with hard drives these days,.

o shoot formating takes so long,.  Emptyone

RE: "Allocation unit size"
Large block size » fast, but lot of space wastage
Small block size » slow, but not too much wastage.

Generally, if you've got a lot of large files, use the large block size.  If a lot of small files, use a small block size.

Also, try a quick format.
