I have to agree that you'd be very stupid to contact the FBI if you had the hard drive.
It's probably been sold off already. I don't believe that wee're getting the full story as to the real contents of the drive.
This is sloppy: why would you store such sensitive information on an external drive??? DUH!

Seriously, it's probably encrypted. Um, maybe they store sensitive info on external drives when they need to transport it?! Lol, but then, everything would be encrypted, so I guess people won't have that much use for it...
