RE: New Pandora proof PSP
I never put anything illegally obtained on my psp. In fact I barely do anything illegal at all (ask around, people should know by now).

I am saying if I want to take my old game and play it on my psp I should have the right.
If I want to throw my psp off a bridge, I should have the right.
If I want to turn my psp into a palm pc, I should have the right.

RE: New Pandora proof PSP
Okay. I have been reading around and I am sort of confused right now....  With a psp with the new motherboard, will there be any way to get custom firmware at all?  Even after DC6 is released?

I'm going to say no, not without removing and replacing that chip he mentioned
unless sony leaves another security hole somewhere.

given. but that doesn't entitle you to obtain iso and all.. this is intended for illegal spread of ISO etc. For the simple fact is that whatever the initial developer's thoughts and ideas may have been, people misuse the ability of PSP to play ISO.

I don't want to get off topic here on this subject, but the fact that the PSP can run ISO's isn't the problem. The fact the people have crack what Sony spent a lot of money on, to do something they don't want you too. You can take any moral view you like. Sony. or any company does not like, and will stop it if they can any homebrew use.

Game not licensed for the PSP and/or Sony. No.

Yes.

Slushba132 Wrote:If I want to turn my psp into a palm pc, I should have the right.

No, it's not licensed to do so.

TA-085-V1/2 = Any DC works
TA-088-V1 = Any DC works, just can't create a service mode battery.
TA-088-V2 = Only DC ver. 6 might work, and can't create a service mode battery.
TA-088-V3 = The Pandora exploit will not work at all.

RE: New Pandora proof PSP
I have another question.  Have these new motherboards been seen yet in north america?  Just wondering, because I'm thinking of now going and buying a slim today or tomorrow.  But i won't buy one if there is a possibility that I might get one that can't have CFW.

I don't think so. Like wise man said.

Mr. Shizzy Wrote:I would presume this was what SONY meant, when they said "wee are aware piracy is a problem on PSP, and wee will soon be taking actions against it"

All is not lost yet.  But for those considering buying/hacking a PSP, I would get one now.
Buy one of the Stars wars white, or daxter packs.   They should be TA-085v2 I believe, so as long as you have access to a Pandora, you should be set.

RE: New Pandora proof PSP
...If nothing else look for a model number on the box.
I know the old boxes use to have A, B or C depending on what model the psp inside was.
They could have done the same thing with the slim. Just go for an older model of the slim that probably has an older motherboard.

From what I hear there is no box code, or any other way to tell if your getting a v1, v2, or v3.
