I think the rumour came from the fact that a string "PSP3000" or something was discovered in one of the flash0 files. (where "PSP2000" appeared a long time ago, before the Slim was actually released)

Ehh, I remember folks saying the PSP-2000 was fake too.  I dunno, I don't care, got mah launch PSP, still very happy.

Something tells me it'll be the PSPhone..

Pandora has been patched in the 2000 version on the new shipments, Sony changed the CPU so the IPL will not load.

Right, and just like wee can't run homebrew on official firmware, so I don't see the point in your reply. Pandora is a hardware patchable exploit (hence the IPL working, and not needing being signed by Sony) , so Alex might not be able to fix it. If Sony also goes the extra mile and fixes KIRK wee are really screwed.

That being said, for newer PSP Pandora is useless.
