Problem fixed with new ram
Guys I have a problem, before my ram stick got fudged my vista used to use about 600 mb of my 2 gb ram with firefox(with about 3 tabs open) and msn(with about 10 chat windows) and itunes running but now it is running at a constant 900 - 1024mb of ram could somebody please help me.

Don't say cause vista sucks because that won't help me i would only like people to answer if they can help me. Thank you.

Epigs and rep point up for grabs.

EDIT:

I bought new ram so now I will have 4gb of mighty ram... Should be enough right? lol

Vista sucks.

Have you considered just reinstalling your OS? That's my answer to any problem. Gets rid of spyware/adware and speeds your computer back up.

RE: Vista is being a bit too much of a memory hog
Mine is running at 50% (of 2gb) with 71 processes which is pretty normal. VISTA IS JUST A RAM WHORE. I don't mind it being a little needy. I still love itEmptyone

Are you having problems with apps because of your ram usage? Or is that much ram usage not normal with vista?? Mine's been running @50% since service pack 1

Stop all the services you don't want/use. That frees up some resources. To be honest, Vista just asks for too much..

im running 69 processes and its only using 35% of my 2gb. not quite sure amzter, just do as squee says, check start up programs and get rid of all the unneccessary processes.

RE: Vista is being a bit too much of a memory hog
Yeah my vista runs at about 1.44 which is about half but I think mine is pretty reason considering I'm running veoh and instructables. (Both memory heavy websites). Im also using two other tabs have winrar open, google desktop. and 84 total processes.

I would try disabling some of your visual effects. You can also try shutting the computer all the way to dump ram, and then turning it back on. My ram starts to fill on my laptop after taking it in and out of hibernation without eve shutting it off.

vista runs best at 4gb from my experiences...2gb was the goods for xp, but vista needs more!
