I noted that many people seem to vote just by the artists name or the render/stock and not the actual work. So I was wondering if wee could implement a voting system somewhat similar to what I saw elsewhere.

Basically, in this sytem, everyone votes in this manner:

For SOTW
Vote: Artist's/Signature name/number
Reason for choosing:

for Battles
Vote: Artist's name

Reason:

Tip to the other artist.

I figured that this way, everyone would benefit, as well as exchange good ideas!

i think this is an excellent idea...... the SOTW has really suffered because of biased voting.....

...but what if I just want to vote? What if by some weird reason I am too damn lazy to posts an actual reason. What if I used a random number generator to pick my vote? I think people will still vote how they vote regardless they will just come up with a reason that justifies their vote.

Besides what will polls be used for then, actual discussion? Ha, don't make me laugh.

Simply the Reason would be fine.

How does it put off new members? All that they have to do is state who they voted and why.. and if they participate and lose, they get tips on how to improve.. (unless "someone*" comes alnog and goes pukey on their face...

I tend to be brutally honest and people tend to get angry, but hey, it's not my fault your art sucks.

oh and I still think the new voting sucks. To much work. Besides what if I don't have nine years of my life to dedicate to the computer... what If I just want to get in vote and get out.

i have to agree with slushba and senseito...
most of the time ppl don't want to state any reason...they just like what they see and vote for it.
and why so formal?...this is ep not hacks/qj/any other dumb site...>_>

Besides, what happens when people start talking in the voting thread? Then someone is going to have to go through all those nonsense posts and figure out which ones are votes, what they voted for, an if they voted already.
