Wee know that the standard length for an episode is around 23 minutes (usually including the opening and closing video), but there's some with different lengths.

Do you have any preference to episode lengths?

(I generally find some "stupid" or "comedy" are split into half length episodes - probably cause they're meant to be a filler or something?)


Personally, I find half length episodes somewhat convenient, mainly cause I like to finish my episodes.

Haven't really seen anything of a different length, so I have no material to make a comparison.

But I can say I wouldn't want anything too long (eg. 2hrs). Since then I probably wouldn't finish watching an episode in a single sitting, and would have to continue on later, and that would be really annoying.

If it's a serious Anime, like Blood+ or Rurouni Kenshin, then more than 20 minutes is a must. I also wanted Haruhi's episodes to be longer.

I think the 23-24 minute standard time for an anime is because they're shown on TV, and the difference between that and 1/2 hour is to allow for the placing of ads.

OVAs (no ads) are 1/2 hour generally.

I'd have loved short series to have been 30~Mins long.

I generally watch normal length, however.

well.... I would perfer 30 mins or movie length anime, so they dun split into many eps... but unforately..... most of the anime i see is normal length... lol
