Because it is still weird that they ask for social security number, most places ask for bank accounts so whether you have the money or not they get their money either from you or the bank.

No, they ask for my age, name, and last 4 digits of my SSN to check my credit to see if I'm eligible for the Bill Me Later payment option, where I can make payments without any interest for 90 days.

And most places, if I made payments the regular way, I'd have like 25% interest, which is not a good thing for a poor art student. This lets me pay it off in 3 months, right before school starts, without any interest. It's a good deal.

Yep. VERY good deal. In fact, anyone that is in the market for a Mac or iPod, go check out MacMall.com. They have great deals, like a 16GB iPod Touch for $329, as opposed to the regular $400.
