have you ever considered or thought about what "Life" exactly is? as in why were wee born or rather created or life evolve into such as it is. They say that if earth was even one degree adrift, it would not sustain life. So what does that mean.. the entire concept of "Life" is a game of chance? like a lab experiment (rather serendipity)? and waht if wee actually are something like Matrix? our our lives just an illusion?

meh... our daily decisions are as insignificant to the Universe as is a delocalization of an electron from an atomic orbital. Obviously wee wouldnt realize if our life was a illusion or not. After all.. wee are what our experiences are. What wee see and what wee feel. But does it testify that it is real? An intelligent design it is, truly. But by who? and why only Earth? Obviously some life may exist somewhere else... but the why so distant and incommunicable? Like isolated Rings in Halo where one ring's species could not be allowed to mix with other... meh... wee all know the story..

but in essence... if this Intelligent Creator who designed the great Universe exist... then doesn't that mean that they have control over our lives?

oh i remember, before like in the 90's, i was wondering if the people i am chatting in the internet are real.
after all, maybe all this, is an illusion or a dream.
maybe I'm not real at all.
maybe wee are in a some kind of matrix right now?
or are there other multiverse? or parallel dimension?

The universe was formed somehow. People generally tend to get worked up over how it was done, but personally I am of the idea that the universe did not come into being at the behest of some divine being.
With that in mind let me move onwards.
The earth was formed six billion years ago. That's frankly a lot of time in which stuff could have gone awry, resulting in us not being here today.
You havealready mentioned it a little youself, what with the angle of the earth. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but let's save that for another thread, eh?
65 million years ago the dinosaurs died out. Most likely due to a meteor crash. Think of what would have happened if that meteor had missed the earth. Would you be here today?

Moving onwards, there have been several times from the time of the dinosaus and the present day where large groups of species have been wiped out. Funnily enough, the species that eventually led to mankind, which eventually led to you did not die out. But what if it had?

Let's just take a great leap forwards and throw mankind into the equation. In the 14th century, the black death killed off somewhere between 30-60% of all people living in Europe. But your ancestors survived. How about that, eh?

Let's move forward to the time when your parents met. Unless their marraige had been planned ahead by their parents, they met due to some odd twist of fate. What if they hadn't?

At the night you were conceived, suppose your father had worn a condom? Suppose your mother had a "headache?. Would you be alive today?

If you think about it, you are only alive, on this planet, right here right now, due to an enless string of chances and occasions going just right. Frankly, given the length of time from the universe came to be, to the earth forming, to your birth, it is nothing less than a miracle (the non divine thing) for yo to be alive today.

Don't look bleakly at life. Sure the universe is really really really big, and sure it may make you feel really small. But you, YOU, are special. You're unique in your own little way. You're the result of a countless string of chances reaching back to the time the universe came to be.


So cheer up.

It's not a string it's a web, and your very existence means that you caused something else or someone else to not exist. The strings of this web can only be pulled so many ways before it all falls apart. I hope when you think of everything you realize all that could exist, and all that is currently in this system.

I hope that you also realize, that in "time" the contents that make up one object will make up another. All is currently being cycled as the universe goes and on and as long as it continues it is likely to recycle until all possible events and scenarios are met. So even those that do not exist right now will exist eventually.
