Yup. Perma-brick = Permanent Brick = Full brick ;)

On official firmware, a brick is a brick.

but 'brick' alone is a broader term for those on custom firmware ;)

I can't even edit the proper modifications for a decrypted vshmain.prx into pspbtcnf.txt without temp-bricking. So I can't even try >.<

If you don't make the proper preparations, a decrypted vshmain.prx causes problems. And the only way to be able to know what you're modifying is to decrypt it.
