Okay, if you haven't heard about this, this new US bill, titled "Orphan Works", is, in a nutshell, a law to legalize the US government stealing your art. The basic ideas of the bill is that in case an artist of a piece is difficult or impossible to identify, the art becomes copyright to the United States Government. I'm not gonna recite everything from the above two links, but basically they're adding more clauses to the bill that make it easier and easier for a work to become "orphaned." And this isn't going to affect just the US. It will also affect artists the world over, as their work will probably be even easier to be orphaned in the US.

Add on top of this the fact that Obama wants to put an extravagant tax on inheritance from deceased relatives (ie, if my parents died, I wouldn't get the $ 1 million life insurance and all of their property, I'd get what's left over after the government takes possession of 30-40% of all money and property.) I'm seriously considering moving out of the US.

You do realize that similar laws are being drafted in Europe as well, right? As one giant "Orphaned Works" juggernaut.

The more I think about it,
the more it seems that the US is going to go into a civil war
REASONABLE people against patriots and stupid people (I'm not saying that they are both the same but they could be).
It's been one bad decision after another

as for the art one, it sucks for artists,
i agree with omegaeye, the economy has to crash soon, the people are fed up with a lot of these stupid politicians running/ruining the country, civil war is possibly a bit too much in this day and age but its not impossible, if wee start talking about things like this, i say california would be the first to start a civil war, california has the biggest economy in the world, well not totally but wee rank somewhere around the top ten if wee were compared with other countries, that counts for a lot when talking war
