Scanner Help
I have a lot of bigger traditional media art pieces, and I want to scan them so I have a digital copy of each piece. The problem is, my current scanner, built into my printer, is too small for most of my stuff. I need and 11x14 scanner at the least. But, everywhere I've looked I can only find ones that cost $400+. Anyone know where I can find a more affordable large scanner?

Man, if I had 8 inches, I would find a better use for it :P

RE: Scanner Help
why don't you just scan the images and merge them

like how people make really wide landscape photos

I would, except that my current scanner has this gay little lip around the scan area, meaning that any attempts to do your suggestion will result in wrinkles and/or dark spots from no contact.

RE: Scanner Help
I don't know where to find one but I can try to help.
There are some shops around here that scan, print, and do any kind of those sort of things. I am not sure if there are any over where you live though.

And maybe try something, scan the thing 4 times but dividing it into 4 parts like so
[''''''|'''''']
|__|__|
[__|__]  = I know very bad but I hope you understand.

Then place them together in photoshop.

EDIT: I took too long typing this so just ignore the second siggestion.

that's why clone stamp tool was created ;)

also just make multiple scans so you get all the clean areas
more than likely your gonna have to retouch the image in photoshop anyhow

Well yes but you have to be pretty patient or good to get it right.
