RE: [PSP] RCO Editor v1.15c
GIMs are Sony's own format, thus there aren't really any programs available for editing GIMs.
(you can still extract them by selecting GIM from the dropdown list when extracting an icon)

RCO Editor defaults to extracting as a 32 bit BMP, which does contain an alpha channel.  However, you'll need an application capable of rendering 32 bit BMPs - only one I know of is Photoshop.

RE: [PSP] RCO Editor v1.15c
Sometimes my msvideo_main_plugin.rco is not 100%,.. not showing the text when using repeat or fast forward etc,.in the video menu,.. so i tried to extract all and replace all,.. but for some reason rcoedit does not replace all,.. so i deleted all .bmp's from the folder i extracted all files in and tried replace all again and worked fine,.!!
by the way after this the msvideo_main_plugin.rco works 100%

I was lacking photoshop from the last format of my hdd..

edit: even though photoshop detects the alpha channel, it isn't easily applied to the image. Im using CS2

With the 1.x series, no.
If I ever decide to start v2, possibly - I don't quite understand page resource insertion fully myself, though.
