As mentioned earlier, you'll probably get better help if you try a number of Linux forums (interestingly they haven't given you a result).

Can you try reinstalling the package? Basically, remove it, then install it again.
I find many issues usually relate to config files - you can try restoring a default one too.

restoring a config file either gives me an error: screen not found, or else i get the same bug over again. thanks zinga, i couldnt get anything from even the official slackware site... this is quite the bug... I actually cried upon looking at my old screenshots... Sadcorner

Did you try X's site instead? After all, it sounds like an X problem, not a distro issue...
