Think of something like this. You can spend X amount of effort to create something that will generate Y amounts of revenue. But you also have the choice of spending X/4 amount of effort to create something that will generate Y/3 amount of revenue. Which is the superior option? The second choice, because 4(X/4) = 4(Y/3) = 1.33Y > Y.

And yeah, I'm not really saying that's exactly the case. It's just my theory.

And you know how they re-aired the original Haruhi episodes and mixed them with the new ones (meaning the new ones slot into the middle of the old ones)?

This makes all previous boxsets "incomplete", because you're effectively missing episodes in the middle. Another incentive to get people to re-buy the whole thing.

^ Yeah, that takes the piss absolutely... unless they release a second boxset and call the inbetweenies Vol2.5, etc... which I doubt will happen.

I haven't even bothered to see The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya II yet...

Frankly I had enough of that story in Season 1.
