i understand why hacks is gay, lot of immaturity there, but i also feel quite mentally bound there, as it was my first forum ever, it's where i learnt Graphics, and learnt loads of stuff in general, including PSP info of course. If it wasn't for -hacks, i wouldn't be doing graphics at all, or be helping admin 2 websites right now, as well as having many awesome contacts who again, i wouldn't have met if not for -hacks. Yeah, most of the respected people from there are here, but it's still manageable there, for me anyway, and it's always got something going on.

Let's take a look at how "serious" the site is.

Site Focus
The site's focus is on PSP hacking.  Do you go there for that?  Let's analyze what's there:
Help section - 80-95% of threads there have been answered 1000's of times.  Most of the posts responding are either rewordings of previous posts, links to previous posts, or some advice to search etc.
General section - actually has some interesting topics there, though a fair number of them are rather stupid
Hacks & Cracks - Half the threads there are help/speculation, the other half are news postings.  How often do you see someone actually making something beyond an installer there?
PSP Programming - IMO, actually some useful discussion (it seems to be a common trait amongst programming forums that they're a lot more organized)
Other PSP sections - all sorts of random poo poo gets posted in there

PSP Customization
There's a few people who dominate helping all the people in need - I really do admire their ability to do so much.  Otherwise, I really haven't been there much.

Off-topic Discussion
This is where the majority of you guys probably come from.  Do you really think it's "serious"?

Combined with the fact that there's an excessive amount of advertising, and a site admin who basically never visits the forums (blogs tend to earn more advertising revenue than forums), do you really think that site is serious?


By the way, being a mod there, I can certainly tell you the mod section is a total joke.  I tried to fix things up, but I eventually couldn't be stuffed. (I recall giving advice on the Graphics section, but they obviously decided not to listen (belly0fdesire basically saying the same poo poo over and over again, always totally disagreeing with what I say and never using any intuition; his actions ended up causing the Graphics section shutdown, which I'm sure some of you know about)).

Yeah, he does act more normal, doesn't he?  Makes me ponder why he bothers acting like an idiot in the first place.  I can see his motives, but in the end, he is stupid, and isn't acting through them correctly.

I don't really care anyways - I made it clear to him that he understands my position :P
