And does logic dictate that I should know the exact speed of the CPU and my requirements/expectations before purchase? :P
Otherwise, you cannot always predict (and I still can't) future requirements.  Just at this stage, I don't need the power, but at least I know it's there if I want it in future.  For now, I'll leave it at stock for longevity, less power usage and less risk's sake.

I wonder about that...

If you lets say do loose a chip to overclocking, is there any way for them to tell that it actually died because of your overclock?  And by "loose chip to overclocking", I'm referring to "shortened lifespan" rather than "burn up in smoke", because the later would be obvious.

Random thoughts...

Motherboard » $50-150  (depends on what features you want).
4GB RAM » $80-100?
AMD PII 955 3.2GHz CPU » $160
ATI Radeon HD 5830 GPU » $240
CPU cooler » $30?
1TB HDD » around $80?

Total - around $700

Decent PSU » $50-70?   (don't think you would need anything more than 500W)
1.5TB HDD » +$30?
Core i5 750 » +$40
ATI Radeon HD 5850 » +$70
BD reader » +$60
BD burner » +$150?

Spoiler for Actually, screw that.  You want this.:

Oh, shiii... forgot the motherboard.  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6813182177
And this one even better than the other SSD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6820227500

And it seems I don't have enough PCI-E slots so stick 8 SSDs and 3 GPUs, so I'll reduce that to 4 and 2, but I can increase the RAM all the way to 18 sticks (6x3x4GB).

I should submit it to this... http://endlessparadigm.com/forum/showthr...?tid=23022

It'll let you boot Windows in less than 10 seconds... probably.
