RE: 4850 vs. 5770
Oh Zinga don't get a bad image of me..... my family doesn't have much money. Granted my aunt is rich as heck for normal people but she's stingy with money... however she tends to give me some amounts of money on holidays... yeah maybe I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to spending money... but I try my best to not burden my family with it. The money I have now to spent for the Graphics card etc. came solely from said aunt.
Before christmas I had 260€ saved from my allowance, 200€ went away for christmas presents etc and I just bought my mum a new 56" TV. She was so sick of her current CRT.... It's not that I throw around with money without paying attention to my family nor am I rich so don't get the wrong image of me Gongxi

Whereas I'm perhaps way too conservative. (I'm mainly trying to save every bit I can cause I'm afraid of the housing market here)

Small savings now won't really help you tackle that problem.  Will more depend on your later income and savings in the future when you have a steady job.

Rich people are quite often more stingy with money than poorer people.  My parents are quite well off, within top 5% here I would estimate, but they're like stingy as hell (buy me better internet goddammit), probably the reason why I'm heaps stingy too, heh.

I wouldn't underestimate small savings really.

@SkyDX: I was just kidding.  How you spend your money is your decision, and you understand your circumstances far better than wee do.
