What's wrong with internal?

I'd be supporting the idea of an External drive but not so much anymore..

I found the write speeds via USB 2.0 to be just torturous..

E-sata works too (if you don't have a port, you could always wire something out, lol).
Just that external HDDs cost more, and have a higher likelihood of breaking if you tend to knock stuff off tables.
Also, different from RAID as it doesn't provide redundancy.

Yeah, my lappy has eSATA, actually.. but it also has panels on its back to allow easy upgrading... and two 500GB drives seems like a tasty upgrade.

mmm....OCZ makes eSata flash drives now ... like a usb stick, but instead of a usb plug it is an eSata plug.  

by the way the drive that i originally replaced also flaked out when repairing..then i put in another new one and eventually all is good now :)

Most USB flash drives can't even saturate USB 2.0.  No point in anything faster until wee get faster USB drives... >_>
