macs are the best, now that they are intel even more

i still use windows but i might be getting a macbook (pro) this year, my dad has an iMac

the best thing about macs is the innovative design of the PC
and the fact that everything works, you don't ever need to restart or anything, you don't need a virus scanner, 'not responding' doesn't exist, it doesn't crash, no bsods, no bullchocolate. if you take mac and linux, then windows is in the middle combining the disadvantages of both.

You don't need a virus scanner because Macs aren't popular and therefor
there are less viruses, its not actually because they're a safer system, if they
became popular there'd be a lot more viruses for them and you'd have to get
a Virus scanner.

what you say is true, however mac os x is in fact much safer than windows which makes it very hard to make virusses for it compared to windows. macs are getting popular enough, especially among pc noobs that don't know spoon which is exactly the target group virus makers want to attack. there arent many virusses for linux either, yet most important servers always run linux.

Why is it safer?

because of the way the OS handles rights and programs and the lack of bugs etc

Technically, the main problem with attacks is the end user.  Regardless of how "safe" the operating system is, if the end user is dumb, it'll get hacked.
So, I never run anti-virus on my Windows, never ever update or patch it, and have never had any problems with viruses etc.  That's primarily because I know what I'm doing.

Viruses don't just appear, the user has to actually install them (regardless of whether they're aware of it).


Anyways, now that Macs run on PC hardware, MacOS has been hacked to run on PC, and Windows/Linux will run on Macs too :P

still i think the main advantage of macs is the hardware and not the OS

also windows have been around longer then mac. and is more popular.                               or people hate bill gates... also linux has a penguin logo!
