Also your best bet is always to get an acapella version of a song if you want the vocals. By filtering out certain frequencies to isolate the vocals you are bound to lose some tonal quality from the original vocals and thereby making it almost useless to do so. That's not always the case but its for the most part a pretty difficult process to do unless you have the master and in my opinion not worth all the work. But that's beside the point. (found it on a fourm lol)

Hmm, thanks amzter - looking at it, hmm, interesting - never knew that just using a hi-pass/lo-pass filter would work. I thought it would at least try to extract through channel mixing.
I've tried cutting frequencies before, using a graphic equalizer, but have never achieved decent results... (dynamic filters seem to actually work better).
