i like to thank both matchung and Peacefully Disturbed... although my gameboot is now a white screen... it gives my PSP more of meaning of "this thing belongs to me, touch it and you will die" lol just kidding about the killing part...

If you are on 3.40 OE-A you should use the 3.40 recompiled opening_plugin.rco by Z33, then you can modify it without screwing up the PSX games.  Otherwise you will have to do the whole modified game_plugin.prx and 0pening_plugin.rco thing to have working PSX again.

yep!!! im on 3.40. so ill juz use the decompressed 3.40 rco then edit it with mf audio, etc. and everything will be ok? no more editing of prx? tnx!!!

Yep you shouldn't have any problems.  I test all of the coldboots I make using the recompiled 3.40 opening_plugin.rco to make sure that I can start a PSX game, and I haven't had any problems yet.
