Please use a light coloured theme for now. I'm removing most of the current themes as they aren't designed for this version of MyBB.

I'm more thinking along the lines that settings aren't great defaults, since the random person who happened to wander into the site is probably looking for the content of people's posts, not people's avas and sigs. So when the other poo poo takes up 80% of the screen, that's counter productive.
Actually it is default for guests, but, for users, the upgrade script seems to set current users to use the horizontal layout...

What exactly are wee being counter productive against? The whole thing that makes this site what it is, is its fun crazy nature...
I do not believe the majority of people stay here because of the psp downloads...
as wee become more "productive" wee embrace the already dead homebrew scene and lose the more active fun part of the site...

No, I understand, but I seriously doubt you actually have much backing to any of those claims, apart from your own beliefs.
I take your point, but I think you're over-simplifying things or overlooking things to some extent.
Woo, got the downloads section up now. One theme failed to convert over, need to look into that. Otherwise, still needs tweaking here and there, but at least the collection is alive.
