His Majesty 1337ness Ge64 the 1337th
Right. So here I am, moved to Hong Kong, still in school, a year ago. I need to do Dutch lessons in order to pass some sort of exam or certificate so I can get into a Dutch uni in a year. I was doing the highest form of secondary education commonly possible in The Netherlands, so that's the level of First Language Dutch I'm supposed to be doing, which consists of bullshit and literature, which I HATE.
So, for a year or more now, I've done exactly 2 tasks out of the 26 6-hour tasks I was supposed to do on a regular basis. My teacher sends the 10000th email that I have to hand in stuff or I won't pass and stuff. So, a bit panicy because I only had 4 weeks or so, I continue to do nothing until last weekend. A new email came, pretty pissed, saying that I will have failed and that for any extra tasks handed in I would need to pay 65 euro's a pop. HOLY ****. So then I had a big fight with my parents obviously, and all this spoon and I promised to try and do the minimal 9 tasks this week and hand them in before monday. I started working my donkey off but by today I had only managed to finish two tasks. I wrote a 2 paragraph (not much) apology to the teacher, without going into much detail about what I'm going to do to change and why I havent done shit cause ive done that about 20 times before. Ive written more Dutch in emails to her than in all the tasks ive handed in. I send the two tasks and the email, and just now she got back to me.
She says doing it all in one week won't work
She says there's no use
She says I won't learn anything, and it will be too much pressure
She says she talked with the Education Advisor
And then...
She says, she read my tasks, and she got an idea of my capabilities in Dutch
She says, with this level, I might as well just do the 6th and last year.
SHE SAYS I PASS!!!!
LOL!
The moral of the story:
PROCRASTINATION PAYS OFF!
But you do need to believe in it, keep going, have patience, and don't give up on it.
