in umdstream composer you can set the avi files start and finish by frames

also for previews i just converter mix the audio and video back together convert it to a swf fil and upload it to imageshaack

i make mine at 80 frames and it works fine at 80.. 2 and almost a half a second
if you want to preview a pmf why don't people just install the pmf codec then you can watch them WMP or MPC or pretty much any video player.. yeah there is no audio that way but meh.. doesn't bother me.... but im a weirdo lol
