Yes, for some basically. Except for Logan's Shadow and soon to be others which taps into 333 mHz. 3.50 Official Firmware unlocked that.

Version changer (hex editing) alone can't let you play any game if you're on 1.50. But if you mean devhook, then yes. But that's another story. :S
