"Theives are operating..."
I don't know about other libraries, but here in Brisbane (Australia), in every library, there's always an announcement every ~10 minutes:

"Theieves are operating on campus. [for Uni library]  Please don't leave valuables unattended."

At the Brisbane City Council libraries, it's like every ~5 minutes.


Just wondering, does this happen at any other Australian library?  Or perhaps elsewhere in the world?
I wonder what started this - maybe there was a big robbery perhaps?
