Im sorry if im high jacking your thread @Tetris999 but i have serious problem with Ubuntu and im hoping everyone here can help.For starters i have a $400 theater pc that i got from walmart and it has Nvidia motherboard,Amd Athlon 2 x4 645 processor,4gb of ram,and an amd hd 6450 graphics card.I have an old install disc of Ubuntu 11.10 and when i use it everything installs great.The problem comes from when i try to install the amd 6450 proprietary drivers.It downloads the driver and installs it as if there is nothing wrong but when i reboot it im greeted with a nice black screen.I also hear the usual boot sound too.Is their something else im suppose do before rebooting or are the drivers not going to work no matter what i do?
