So there's a number of ideas floating around that wee'll be interacting with (human-like) robots a lot more often in the future (as opposed to, say, a "basic" factory robot which is already used today).
Personally, I'm not so sure about that.

You may have seen/heard about the potential for robot checkout operators, or perhaps speaking to a robot about getting a loan, but I personally wonder, really?
To me, it seems much more practical that society will get over the idea that wee need to interact with other humans or human-like interfaces (such as a robots) for many of these tasks; wee're already buying online and I don't think it's far off that many other systems will have similar computer interfaces to them.

So, do you think human-like robots ever be widely used, assuming that the technology does ever arrive?
