My worst class this term would probably have been poetry, as i am a souless and emotionless person (this is what poets want you to believe if you don't enjoy the art), i struggled (read: didn't care) through the course. Fearing a fail in the course (ugh, there goes my gpa) I took the final exam, writing a rather good essay and giving up by the second (it was a literal paragraph long). Fortunately, I got all the other questions and my first essay was good enough to warrant me a 70% in the course and 70% overall, woohoo!
Poetry... I wouldn't study poetry even if the uni paid me the cost to study rather than the other way around.
But I always though you were a science guy rather than a literature guy? Maybe because you used to always talk about chemistry and stuff.
What degree are you doing?
Well, science majors are notorious for not being able to write well, so it was inevitable that the universities here would want you to take a full year of english before applying into any major (silly right? you actually don't learn much), which explains why i was doing a full year of english.
What degree I'm taking is something that is twisting in my stomach, to tell you the truth I enjoy everything I'm doing right now: Physics, Chemistry, Math and what not. Obviously with a mindset like this, it's only natural that I don't know what I'm going to major in :/. So far, I'm going for a B.Sc in SOMETHING though, ugh.
But yeah, I did NOT think poetry was going to be good this year, I took it because one of my friends were insistent on it being an enjoyable course and what-not. Funnily enough, he talked to me about dropping english when wee were in it for two weeks, gaw. I'm going to be serious guys, DO NOT TAKE POETRY, even if you don't hate the stuff. If you do NOT enjoy it (you don't need to hate it) DO NOT take it! :(
Oh heartless, i wouldn't be studying all the time when i would talk to you...I think. @_@
Also Ghost, don't push yourself over with studying, i was procrastinating too (a lot) this year; I skipped lectures daily and would sometimes just STARE at my computer screen not wanting to work on things. What's definitely important though is motivation as you said and sometimes, it doesn't come easy to everyone; just find something that you like and chip away at it. Believe me, procrastination is a normal thing that EVERYONE does, even the guy who says "oh em gee, I am physics majurrr i loev it."
One of my ways with dealing with procrastination is reaching a goal in a game and shutting it off when i reach that goal, returning to work with a new attitude, for me, it's a really great way of studying.
Also, i believe that you can do it ;)
