I've used ALL three operating systems and i will say that windows 7 is THE best interface for touch. Also, the ram i use on my tablet netbook is 800 MB; only the 64 bit versions jump to 1.3GB, so i think there isn't any need for ram past 2GB really. Windows 7 DOES have a few issues though in terms of closing and resizing windows; but such problems can be shortcutted by flicks.
Also, i use a windows tablet everyday for university writing/etc and it is a CHAMP for doing all my tablet consumption needs and in some cases, the ipad cannot compete.
And anyone calling that tablet underpowered is unfortunately retarded, my tablet runs at 1.2 GHz with 800 Mhz in tablet mode and 2GB DDR2 ram and it runs without hiccups in doing tasks that i require out of it. This includes watching 720p vids, taking down notes, browsing the web, and other stuff you would probably do on a say, ubuntu or mac based computer.
No, you should never run games under ubuntu/macs, it sucks, period.
As you can tell, with such a chocolatety tablet, you have to say I'm very excited for this. What i find the problem with people is that they will either follow a fad and eat spoon or have total digust for popularity and still eat spoon; there's no one looking for the middle line in terms of what is
useful and
practical.
inb4 someone starts raging at me about how ubuntu is awesome; I'll agree with you, i like the OS for my netbook and heck, if i had space i would put it on my desktop. It's just that ubuntu is NOT good for tablets, well, that is to say; for now it isn't anyway.
Don't get me started with macs
