Sony will probably just fudge up PSP2 as well though...
Meh, i don't know; sony really kicked the handheld markets butt in terms of power when they released the psp; the same thing might happen with the psp go.
I don't understand what you mean by "the same thing might happen with the psp go." It's already failed :/
Anyway, lets think about the PSP for a minute.
While it was the most powerful at the time.. looking at sales:
Nintendo DS - Worldwide: 128.89 million
Sony PSP - Worldwide: 66.7 million
...as of March 31st, 2010
Sony need to provide something that people really want next time around and not slack at it. They must have been blind, for a start, to not see how with Nintendo DS already racking in the sales and the iPhones app store rocketing the iPlatform as a "gaming" one, that a Touchscreen would've helped the PSP significantly. Granted the first-gen PSP wasn't the right time, but the PSP Go was a chance, and would have been a much more worthy experiment than a stuuuupid Digital-only platform. The only thing they got right was the internal memory.
They need to bring innovation back and jump ahead of Nintendo if they want to beat it's 3DS console that's around the corner, let alone the innumerable superphones that will emulate all the games you could possibly want - let alone their own touch-sensitive and motion-sensitive gaming platforms which they have already.
