I am an English teacher and I usually touch this topic as additional information for my students.
Pnemonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis is a lung disease acquired by the miners.
Floccipaucinihilipilification is one of the recorded longest English word also.
Titin is also the short cut of the official longest word in English. It is a chemical name of a protein.
Lopadotemachoselachogaleokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphioparaomelitokatakechymenokichlepikossyphophattoperisteralektryonoptekephalliokigklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon
is the second longest word.
