It's not about warnings and whatnot, it's also about efficiency...  You spend less time uploading (good thing), everyone else spends less time downloading (also good thing), and this isn't really something that needs to be so pixel exact that you have to use lossless....

what assassinator said... i thought it was just my internet acting up :/
a resized/lower quality version of it would suffice
(except maybe for thumbnails :D )
