Run faster, probably yes.  Newer and larger HDDs tend to be faster.

Less hot, don't know, depends on the drive.  And for laptops, it's probably your CPU/GPU and crappy ventilation making it hot anyway, a HDD by itself doesn't get all that hot.

And according to some web calculator, 70F = 21C, which is pretty damn cold actually...

Lol.  Don't hit it too hard.

HDDs are quite fragile, a small drop, and you get a very high likelihood of breaking.
