Talk to your dad about this. I'm sure it's not something you can bring up so easily to your dad but just try talk to him about your goals and why you want to be an engineer I'm sure he'd support you in your career choice. Maybe then you wouldn't feel bad?

My dad supports me. He never got the chance for an education which is why I'm working hard to become the first person in my family to graduate college and earn munnies.
