I believe that once you have achieved what you need to while encarnate on this planet, which may take a few encarnations, you are then a discarnate spirit roaming the multidimensional universe as a part of the whole (God) until you reincarnate again on a totally different planet for new learning purposes. I believe being encarnate is an element to your spiritual evolution. Your spirit doesn't stay the same, it changes & evolves just like your human body. Constant evolution of the spirit. There is no boundary, it is an infinite process with beginnings & endings threaded cyclicly through your encarnate & discarnate journeys.

Surely wanting to succeed in "spiritual evolution" is the prime objective of the soul to begin with so the human body, I suppose, does work as "a valve between us and the BIG MIND" as Aldous Huxley would put it.

Its very curious: the relationship between the body and the soul - and I suppose its "gods gift" that wee are given a life as a human being in order to have the opportunity to "evolve" above the need of such a container. After all, it seems, its because of the time as an incarnate human, and because of the effect the life as a human has on the soul that allows itself to communicate with the mind in the form of "contemplation" and ultimately the progression of awareness required to succeed in spiritual evolution.
