As far as I know, the PSP will charge anytime you plug it in...

Not true.

With PSP-1000, it doesn't charge when using WiFi.

As far as I know, Soft, you'll have to put up with it.

Keep in mind though, that it isn't losing any battery, it just runs directly off AC.
