As I'm sure you figured out, backflipping was a way to give him a sound clue each time as well as give an exact distance, since it is a community effort. People figured out how many backflips in each direction were required in order for him to get to the right area and to be able to land in front of a treasure chest or something else. I'm interested to see just how far he gets.  Perhaps the enemies' attacks will indeed have such a pattern that makes it completely manageable?
