is this a liquid crystal or plasmagoria tv syfe?

im sure because this 42" sylvania *the only place ive seen this brand name is on home lightbulbs at walmart* wee got is a retarded brand the plasmas arent very good cause it gets side bar burn in withing about 5 minutes of being on a standard def channel and it goes away after about 15 minutes.

I would think from the great experiences I have had with lcd displays on laptops and desktop monitors I want an LCD when the time is right..but newer plasmas are probably going to blow the pants off this sylvania so i figured i would ask what type the sony is since it wasn't in your specs  ;)

Heres my monitor...in windows via dvi it only does 1680x1050...but SOMEHOW LIKE MAGIC it accepts and displays all 1920x1080 of the ps3 hdmi!  I even made a wallpaper to check it and in the osd info it says 1920x1080 so im trying to figure out how to get it to do 1920x1080 in windows cause i want that extra real-estate, i just get scared when creating a new monitor profile that 'doing this may damage your monitor' and I have no backup nor the money to buy a new one if it does in fact break it :(

My other tv is a 27" Samsung 4:3 HDTV CRT Tv that i paid $699 for a few months after the xbox1 came out...it only does 480p and 1080i and is NO GOOD for todays high detailed games so that got moved to our bedroom for bedtime tv watching when wee got this plasma.  I tried playing gears of war on it and at 1080i but the picture is so small and bland cause its letterboxxed it looses alot of the details and at 480p it just hurts my eyes.
