Yeah IGN mansge to explain why R-Type is damn hard. I disgaree though, the level designs and boss fights are not worth it. They pale in comparison to the Gradius series and Darius series (Well only G-Darius and Darius Gaiden, rest is poo poo.)

You should at least play one of the games. Plus R-Type Delta wasn't half bad. Though there's one stupid section (Or I should say stage, Stage 4 is one of the worst level ideas in existence. Vertical scrolling on a horizontal shmup... stupid, stupid!)

The list failed to mention Dodonpachi though! Trying to 1CC it (Includes 2nd cycle) is not fun =(

I can beat Contra Hard Corps just fine without the Konami code. Colonal Bahamut still gives me a run for my money though but after you beat him the game is pretty smooth sailing. Red Falcon himself is also a nasty bugger but I still find Bahamut harder.

Contra 4 I'n getting a little better at. I can reach the harbor stage just fine but then I blow all my lives on that awesome missile part =/
Kinda too bad that the boss fights were lame in this game.
