RE: My Impression of the Windows 7 beta
I got 1GB RAM, a 2.2GHz P4 processor, and an integrated 64MB Intel 845g graphics card, and Win7 runs fast. Of course, my Graphics card doesn't run the Aero effects.

Windows Explorer does crash a little, but it did on XP a bit, too. Luckily, explorer restarts itself. I have had problems installing some software in Win7 (that was Vista-compatible, too), like K-Meleon, Opera, and Apple's Safari, but the majority of programs install without problem. Also, Win7 doesn't like XP drivers, like for internal and external wireless adapters. I had to download Vista drivers for my ZyXEL G-220v2 WiFi adapter from the company's site, then install from device manager.

Microsoft was actually working on 7 along side of Vista, so some of Vista's effects were taken from 7, so inevitably, they kinda look the same. However, Win7 is a major improvement over Vista.
