same, but with my iPod, i tend to have it just below halfway as i do know what can happen to all the other people who are wrecking their ears by having it louder. plus i can hear it perfectly at that level, with the only time i raise it if there is excessive noise, that is not being stopped by my noise cancelling earphones. and those times are only rare therefore i don't have it at a high volume for a large period of time.

Same here. When I first got my iPod, full volume was overkill. Halfway was good, and I set a straight lock on the volume just for that. And even if I keep it set, I usually have to turn it down even low for some songs. In places where there is a lot of noise usually in the subway, I just don't bother unless the route runs into an el or something.

About those people who blast their music, I never know how they manage to keep it so high and not get affected much by it.. Weird...
