RE: Who’ll Chrome hit: Firefox or IE?
Quote:the thing is that once Chrome becomes customizable like FF
Unlikely since Chrome is working on being newbie-friendly. Most people who would want add-ons would be experienced users of browsers and therefor would most likely be using FF.
Quote:Opera, Konqueror, Safari, together combined do not sum up to the popularity of FF, which has largely been due to the support of Google. Now things will be different.
True enough but even without Google support FF would still be more popular than those 3 options due to most experienced browser users would go for FF instead of those 3 due to the fact its customizable and far more secure than IE. Opera is faster than FF, that's granted, but FF's add-ons are just too good to pass up.
I'm not sure how Chrome is with security and speed. I would suspect its security be good since they're aiming for the same audience as Microsoft's Vista but speed is the speed could probably be the same as IE.
Most internet beginners would stick with IE though so I have feeling Chrome is likely to hit the dustbin.
